Gender Equality and Family Support

Every young
mother deserves
support

Teenage pregnancy is a growing concern in the Dominican Republic. We provide health care, education, and family support so young mothers and their children can build a dignified future.

Dignity is not a
privilege.
It is a right.

Welcome to Canada for Human Dignity. We work in the most marginalized communities of the deep South of Barahona province in the Dominican Republic, with programs in Health, Education, Nutrition, and Gender Equality.

We run rural medical clinics twice a week in all towns south to the border with Haiti. We operate a Used Cloth and Furniture Bank, a Diapers Bank for infants and elderly, and a Food Bank. Once a week, without exception, we ease the lives of families across the region.

Four pillars of
human dignity

Every program addresses a fundamental need. Together, they form a complete safety net for the communities we serve in southern Barahona.

Health

We understand health as the foundation of human dignity. Our rural medical clinics provide accessible care twice weekly, treating and preventing conditions that would otherwise go unaddressed in remote communities near the Haitian border.

Nutrition

Our Food Bank operates every week without interruption, ensuring no family faces adversity on an empty stomach. We distribute nutritious food to the families and individuals who need it most across the entire region.

Education

Education is the key that opens every door. We provide resources and support to children, youth, and adults so they can build skills, complete studies, and access employment opportunities that transform their futures.

Gender Equality

We firmly believe every person deserves to live with dignity and respect, regardless of race, color, gender, or religion. Our programs actively support women and girls in accessing health, education, and economic opportunity.

"Living with dignity and health is every human's right. We are here to make that a reality in the Dominican Republic."

Manuel Guevara, President

Donate

Every contribution, large or small, fuels a medical clinic visit, a week of food for a family, or school supplies for a child. Monetary or in-kind donations power every one of our four programs.

Business partnership and collaboration

Partner with Us

We welcome partnerships with businesses, NGOs, and government agencies. Expanding our reach requires collaboration. If your organization shares our values, we invite you to join this mission.
