Welcome Section – Canada for Human Dignity

Welcome

Hello everyone and welcome to the official website of the nonprofit organization Canada for Human Dignity in the Dominican Republic. Our purpose is to help the men, women, boys, and girls of the most marginalized communities in the deep South of the Province of Barahona, with programs in Health, Education, Nutrition, and Gender Equality.

We believe that living with Human Dignity is a right — the right to live a healthy life without basic needs that obstruct the progress and development of human beings. With rural medical clinics twice a week in all towns of the deep South until the border with Haiti; a Used Cloth and Furniture Bank, a Diapers Bank for infants and elderly, and a Food Bank — all once a week — we ease the lives of people across the region.

Through these programs, we ease the life of men, women, boys, and girls in the deep South of the Dominican Republic. Thank you very much.

Health

We understand the importance of health as a fundamental pillar of human dignity. Therefore, we offer accessible health services to treat and prevent medical conditions, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to live a healthy life.

Nutrition

Our commitment to nutrition is reflected in our efforts to combat hunger and provide nutritious food to the communities we serve. Through our Food Bank, we ensure that no one has to face adversity with an empty stomach.

Education

Education is the key that opens doors to opportunities. We strive to provide educational resources to children, youth and adults so that they can improve their skills, education and employment opportunities in the future.

Food

Our Food Bank plays a crucial role in the fight against hunger, providing essential food to families and individuals going though harsh times and much need, ensuring that every person have the propper access to adequate and nutritious food.

Volunteering

Canada for Human Dignity is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support to all people without distinction in the Dominican Republic. We firmly believe that every individual deserves to live with dignity and respect, regardless of race, color, gender or religion. We are all children of God, and it is our duty and obligation to provide assistance to those in need.
